Python Developer - AWS, SQL
Onsite - 2-3 days per week in Reston, VA or 3 days per week in Washington, DC
Employment Type: FTE No Corp to Corp
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes using Python and SQL.
- Develop and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and database objects for reporting and analytics.
- Perform source-to-target data mappingand execute comprehensive data quality validationto ensure data integrity and consistency.
- Work with AWS data services, including AWS Lambda, Amazon Redshift, Apache Iceberg, and Amazon Glacier, to build and support scalable data solutions.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, data analysts, and developers to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Develop, execute, and maintain test casesfor data validation, ETL processes, and reporting solutions.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including design documents, mapping documents, data dictionaries, and operational procedures.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog grooming, and retrospectives.
- Track work items, defects, and enhancements using JIRAand contribute to continuous process improvements.
- Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
Required Qualifications
- Strong programming experience in Python.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL, including complex query development and performance optimization.
- Solid understanding of Business Intelligence (BI) concepts, reporting, and analytics.
- Strong knowledge of relational databases and database design principles.
- Hands-on experience with AWS services
- Strong documentation and technical writing skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment.
