Hourly hiring rate for Marketing & Communications Intern: $17.75 per hour.

SUMMARY

San Diego Theatres seeks a dynamic, self-starter to assist marketing and communications efforts. This internship is an excellent opportunity to experience various aspects of marketing and communications while working for a nonprofit that delivers exceptional performing arts experiences.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create and curate engaging content
  • Draft, distribute, and pitch news releases, media alerts and other stories
  • Effectively utilize San Diego Theatres social media and blog
  • Build and update media lists
  • Assist in event marketing and promotions
  • Perform research and data and market analysis activities
  • Assist in developing community outreach and engagement

EXPERIENCE

Completed or working toward a college degree in a related field (e.g., English, Marketing/Communications, Advertising or Public Relations)

Previous internship or related experience in marketing or communications is a plus

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Currently enrolled in a 2 or 4 year college
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and other standard office equipment.
  • Must have your own computer and an internet connection, when working remotely

  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks quickly and successfully.
