We are currently seeking a Regional Director of Sales located in the Greater Miami, FL area with strong leadership skills and a proven track record of building and maintaining a high-performance sales organization that effectively achieves business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Creates and implements effective sales strategies: Develop and execute sales strategies that align with corporate objectives, leveraging market insights and trends to drive revenue growth.
  • Generate proposals and collaborates internally: Work closely with internal teams to develop proposals and sales documents, ensuring alignment with revenue goals and company strategy.
  • Provides sales management and budget controls: Oversee sales management processes, including budgeting, forecasting, and incentive planning, to ensure effective resource allocation and performance monitoring.
  • Stays updated on food safety regulations and industry trends: Continuously monitor food safety regulations and industry trends, modifying sales strategies as needed to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Provides leadership and coaching: Lead the sales team through effective communication of vision, active coaching, and development, while monitoring sales results and taking corrective action when necessary.
  • Develops competencies and processes: Establish processes and competencies to build an efficient and effective sales organization, striving for excellence in performance.
  • Prepare and manage sales forecasts: Develop and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual sales forecasts, adjusting strategies as needed to meet or exceed targets.
  • Maintains sales volume and product mix: Monitor market demand, changing trends, and competitor activities to maintain sales volume, product mix, and pricing competitiveness.
  • Builds strategic customer relationships: Collaborate with executive leaders to identify strategic accounts and negotiate contracts and agreements that support financial goals.
  • Collaborate with other departments: Foster effective relationships and collaboration with other departments to address business issues and capitalize on opportunities.
  • Ensures sales team readiness and understanding: Ensure effective onboarding, development, and ongoing training for sales team members, including understanding sales offerings and food safety requirements.
  • Monitors operational execution: Observe operational execution to assess service quality and customer expectations, providing feedback and suggestions for improvement.
  • Maintains competitive knowledge: Stay informed about food safety regulations, recalls, and customer needs to adapt and refine sales strategies accordingly.
  • Attends relevant meetings and conferences: Stay up to date by attending FDA, USDA, and other food safety meetings, seminars, and conferences.
  • Adheres to food safety and quality standards: Follow all food safety, quality, and regulatory requirements, enforcing adherence to standards and reporting any issues or irregularities.

Qualifications (specific requirements needed to be qualified for the position)
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, food logistics or processing, or sciences and 8+ years of food safety or relevant experience
  • 8+ years of experience managing a direct sales force.
  • Must be willing travel at a minimum of 50% of the time
  • Resides in the Greater Miami, FL
  • Must be proficient in both speaking and writing in English and Spanish.
  • Must have established relationships with retailers, growers, etc.

  • Proven ability to analyze business performance and manage the Profit and Loss (P&L) statement to meet objectives effectively.
  • Experience and success in leading, developing, managing, and retaining high-performance sales teams.

  • Ability to create the vision and strategy to increase the quality of services delivered by the sales and marketing function, aligning with organizational objectives.
  • Proficient in developing sales techniques and tools to build a "best in class" sales organization, driving efficiency and effectiveness in sales processes.
  • Competent with Microsoft Office Suite and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, leveraging technology to support sales and marketing efforts effectively.
