Job description
You'll collaborate across mechanical and electrical teams to ensure hardware meets quality, reliability, and manufacturability standards, making this a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with cutting-edge hardware, troubleshooting, and influencing design improvements.
Location: Tucson, AZ (onsite)
Clearance: U.S. Citizenship required; Secret clearance (active or obtainable). Strong Preference for Active Clearance.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect and test prototype electrical assemblies (cables, wire harnesses, chassis, circuit cards, electronic systems)
- Interpret engineering drawings, schematics, 3D models, and specifications
- Perform troubleshooting and validation of new hardware designs
- Support prototype builds and rapid development cycles with engineering teams
- Conduct and support design reviews, ensuring producibility, reliability, and compliance with standards
- Document and communicate inspection results, discrepancies, and corrective actions
- Collaborate with engineering to improve design quality and manufacturability
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience inspecting electrical/electronic assemblies in an engineering or manufacturing environment
- Experience with cables, wire harnesses, chassis, circuit cards, or electronic systems
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings and schematics
- Strong hands-on experience with inspection, testing, and troubleshooting
- U.S. Citizenship required; ability to obtain a Secret security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with First Article Inspection (FAI), Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA), and DCMA audits
- Familiarity with GD&T and mechanical inspection methods
- Experience using inspection tools (CMMs, calipers, micrometers, optical comparators)
- Certifications such as IPC-A-610, IPC/WHMA-A-620, J-STD-001
- Background in aerospace, defense, or high-reliability hardware
- Experience working with prototype or low-volume production environments
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
Full compensation package is based on candidate experience and certifications
