Job description

To gain valuable insight into Navy Federal's business, technology, resources and procedures by providing support in focused areas, applying knowledge and education. Participate in a collaborative, team driven network and interact with multiple departments. Receive guidance and direction from team and management. Utilize and further develop technical and soft skills, business knowledge, analytical techniques and creative problem solving abilities. Provide professional execution of day to day tasks and special projects while working within established standards, policies and procedures. This is a year-round, Full or Part -Time, flexible internship based on school schedule.

Position will reside on the Branch Operations Facility Management (BOFM) Support team with a focus on financial and accounting processes but will also have tasks that directly support additional BOFM teams.  Applicant is expected to combine learned skills with hands on experience and have a desire to learn and develop professional skills.

Required Qualifications

  • Familiarity with the financial industry, accounting, facility acquisition, facility development, or facility management
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software
  • Ability to learn how to use Navy Federal internal software applications
  • Effective clerical, technical, or administrative skills
  • Demonstrates a positive attitude and effective interpersonal relationships
  • Demonstrates dependability and adherence to process standards, and compliance with company policy and procedure
  • Demonstrates desire to learn how each BOFM team operates in effort to optimize position's ability to support their respective initiatives

Desired Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a degree related to Finance, Accounting, Architecture, Construction Management, Facility Management, Data Analysis, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Copilot or similar AI tools and best practices for the purposes of exploring process automation, data validation, and process improvement

Hours: 

  • Monday - Friday, 8:00AM - 4:30PM (minimum of 20-25 hours a week, based on school schedule)

Location: 

  • 5550 Heritage Oaks Drive, Pensacola, FL 32526 
  • Assist with financial and accounting workflow tasks such as reviewing and submitting purchase order requisitions and invoices in support of all BOFM teams
  • Research invoice discrepancies and assist with resolving issues
  • Assist with data collection tasks in support of the annual budgeting process activities
  • Provide contract and vendor management support for BOFM
  • Administer records retention and organization for business expenses and project documentation
  • Perform general data stewardship tasks
  • Assist with data input and verification in support of BOFM software implementation project
  • Perform other duties as assigned
