About the School
Kennedy International School provides a bilingual, well-rounded education for its students from preschool through 12th grade. We are seeking an enthusiastic and creative part-time Afterschool Science Teacher to join our afterschool program. The ideal candidate will inspire curiosity and a love of science through engaging, hands-on activities and experiments for preschool through elementary-aged students.
Part Time Working Hours: Monday - Friday at 3:15 to 5:00 p.m.
Exact hours and days will depend on class enrollment.
Schedule
  • Must be available to commit for the full 2026-2027 school year
  • Students are grouped according to their age/grade level band
  • Sessions are one-hour long

Responsibilities
  • Plan and lead interactive science lessons and STEM-based activities for pre-school to 5th grade students
  • Create a fun, safe, and engaging learning environment
  • Encourage critical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork
  • Prepare materials and supervise hands-on experiments and projects
  • Effectively manage the classroom and address students' behavior issues in a positive, professional manner
  • Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students
  • Communicate effectively with afterschool management regarding student and program-related matter

Requirements
  • Background in science, education, STEM, or a related field preferred
  • Experience working with preschool and elementary-aged children
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Ability to make science concepts engaging and age-appropriate

Benefits
The hourly rate for this position will be $50 per hour.
