What You Will Do
Guidehouse is seeking a Full-Stack Developer (Java / PostgreSQL) to support a federal law enforcement technology modernization program. The successful candidate will develop, modernize, test, deploy, and sustain mission-critical enterprise applications operating within a highly secure environment.The developer will contribute across the full application stack, including database design, backend services, RESTful APIs, frontend user interfaces, automated testing, security implementation, and DevSecOps integration. This role supports modernization initiatives leveraging PostgreSQL, Java, and contemporary web technologies while ensuring application reliability, performance, and security compliance.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain enterprise applications supporting mission operations.
Design and develop Java-based backend services and RESTful APIs.
Develop responsive front-end applications using React, Angular, Vue, or similar frameworks.
Design and optimize PostgreSQL databases and application data models.
Implement authentication, authorization, auditing, and secure application controls.
Perform data migration, validation, and reconciliation activities.
Develop and support automated testing capabilities throughout the software lifecycle.
Support CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices.
Troubleshoot production issues and optimize application performance.
Create technical documentation, design artifacts, and deployment guides.
Collaborate with architects, cybersecurity personnel, testers, database administrators, and stakeholders to deliver complete technical solutions.
Required Qualifications
U.S. Citizenship.
Active TS-SSBI or TS/SCI clearance.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field. Equivalent experience may be considered.
Minimum FOUR (4) years of experience working across the full application stack, including:
Database design
Backend development
API development
Front-end development
Security implementation
Automated testing
DevSecOps integration
Experience with PostgreSQL, Java, and modern web technologies.
Experience designing and developing Java-based backend services and RESTful APIs.
Experience developing responsive front-end applications using React, Angular, Vue, or similar frameworks.
Experience performing data migration, validation, and reconciliation activities.
Experience troubleshooting production issues and improving application performance.
Preferred Qualifications
Five or more years of enterprise software development experience.
Experience modernizing legacy enterprise applications.
Experience with Spring Boot, Hibernate, or JPA.
Experience with PostgreSQL performance tuning.
Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
Experience with AWS or Azure.
Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines.
Experience with secure code scanning and DevSecOps tooling.
Experience developing, modernizing, and supporting enterprise software solutions within federal government environments.
