Graham Technologies is seeking a highly qualified Data Engineer / Python & SQL Developer to support the design, development, and deployment of data engineering and ETL solutions in a mission-focused environment. This role requires advanced expertise in Python and SQL, with demonstrated experience developing scalable data pipelines, cloud-based integrations, and backend data processing solutions using AWS services. The ideal candidate will also bring strong database design capabilities, technical documentation skills, and experience working within Agile delivery environments. Location: Remote (Preference for Dayton, OH or Washington, DC Metro Area)Key Responsibilities:Design, develop, enhance, and maintain data pipelines, ETL workflows, and backend data processing solutions using Python and SQLImplement and support cloud-based data engineering solutions leveraging AWS Lambda, AWS Glue, Amazon S3, and related AWS servicesDesign and maintain database schemas, tables, data models, and stored proceduresApply database design best practices, including normalization, performance optimization, data integrity, and scalable architectureAnalyze business and technical requirements and translate them into secure, scalable, and maintainable data solutionsDevelop and maintain technical documentation, including solution documentation, interface specifications, data flow diagrams, and operational proceduresParticipate in Agile ceremonies and delivery activities, including backlog management, sprint planning, status tracking, and issue resolution using JiraTroubleshoot and resolve data quality, integration, ETL, and performance issues across the solution environmentTest ETL pipelines and data workflows to validate functionality, reliability, and data qualityPerform peer code reviews for other Data Engineers and provide technical guidance as appropriateCollaborate with developers, architects, analysts, program leadership, and other cross-functional stakeholders to support successful delivery outcomesRequired Skills:Experience:Proven advanced or expert-level experience developing solutions using Python and SQLHands-on experience designing, developing, and maintaining ETL pipelines and data workflowsExperience with AWS Lambda, AWS Glue, Amazon S3, and related cloud data integration technologiesExperience with database design, schema development, data modeling, table design, and stored procedure scriptingExperience troubleshooting data quality, integration, and performance issuesExperience testing ETL pipelines and conducting code reviewsConsultant/Senior Consultant or USDC/PDM/Specialist equivalent experienceSkills:Strong understanding of database design and data architecture best practicesStrong Python development and SQL scripting capabilitiesAbility to design scalable, maintainable, and secure data engineering solutionsAbility to produce clear and structured technical documentation for development and operational useStrong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skillsAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment Desired Skills:Experience:Prior experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) or U.S. Air Force programsExperience working in complex enterprise data environments with multiple upstream and downstream integrationsExperience supporting mission-oriented technology programsExperience working within secure or controlled government environmentsCredentials / Clearance:Ability to meet applicable government security and access requirementsCompensation:At Graham Technologies, we believe in treating everyone with fairness and respect.
