Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC)

Job Summary

A strong therapist can make remote care feel personal, steady, and effective. In this LMHC role, you will provide telehealth counseling to clients who are seeking support for mental health challenges affecting their relationships, work, daily routines, and overall wellbeing.

You will be responsible for guiding the clinical process from intake through ongoing care. That includes understanding each client’s needs, setting treatment goals, documenting progress, and using counseling approaches that help clients build insight and practical skills.

Role Information

  • Location: St. Petersburg, FL
  • Work Setting: Remote / Telehealth
  • Position Type: Full-Time
  • Salary: $115,000–$120,000 per year with full benefits
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM

Responsibilities

  • Provide virtual therapy sessions to assigned clients
  • Complete assessments and identify mental health concerns
  • Develop treatment plans that are clear and clinically appropriate
  • Provide support for clients experiencing mood concerns, stress, anxiety, grief, trauma, and adjustment issues
  • Document sessions and clinical updates in a timely manner
  • Evaluate client progress and update goals when needed
  • Use professional judgment to identify risk or need for additional services
  • Maintain privacy, confidentiality, and compliance standards
  • Communicate clearly with clients regarding treatment expectations and next steps

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling, Counseling Psychology, or a closely related field
  • Active Florida LMHC license in good standing
  • Previous experience providing individual counseling or psychotherapy
  • Comfortable providing therapy through telehealth
  • Strong clinical assessment, documentation, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage a full-time remote caseload responsibly
  • Reliable internet connection and a private workspace for client sessions
