This opportunity is for a CISCO network expert on the Power Hybrid Cloud development team to deliver new features, improvements, and business value to the Power Hybrid Cloud Offerings. The project involves translating existing scripts that configure the ACI into an implementation using RESTCONF directly to the switches. We are looking for people with the deep understanding of the ACI objects and the ability to translate those configurations into switch commands.
This role requires strong technical CISCO networking knowledge as well as problem-solving skills, the ability to collaborate with cross functional and cross geographical teams, and knowledge of cloud "infrastructure as a service" technologies. Programming skills are required and Python experience would be a plus.
Required Professional and Technical Expertise:
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent.
• 3+ to 8 years experience designing and implementing CISCO networks
Core Networking Knowledge
• Strong understanding of Layer 2 and Layer 3 concepts (VLANs, IP routing, ARP, etc.)
• VRFs, VXLAN, and MPLS concepts
• BGP
Cisco ACI-Specific Skills
• Understanding of ACI Fabric architecture
o Spine-leaf topology
o APIC (Application Policy Infrastructure Controller)
• Concepts like:
o Tenants
o VRFs
o Bridge Domains
o EPGs (Endpoint Groups)
o Contracts
Nice to have - Automation & Scripting
• Python (especially for interacting with ACI APIs)
• RESTCONF/REST API experience
