Cloud & Platform Architect
Hybrid - 2 days per month, onsite, in Newark, NJ is required
The Cloud & Platform Architect defines enterprise non-functional requirements (NFRs), cloud platform patterns, and application tiering frameworks to enable resilient, cloud-native systems. This senior-level role focuses on creating reusable templates and reference architectures that guide solution architects in building scalable, high-availability applications. The Cloud & Platform Architect partners with infrastructure, security, and application teams to drive modernization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define NFR frameworks for performance, scalability, availability, and observability.
- Create application tiering and RPO/RTO frameworks for enterprise systems.
- Develop cloud-native templates for microservices, containers, and serverless apps.
- Establish HA/DR patterns, data persistence strategies, and observability standards.
- Build cloud platform reference architectures and cost optimization patterns.
- Define performance and disaster recovery testing frameworks.
- Develop cloud modernization roadmaps and participate in governance.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years in enterprise or cloud architecture.
- 5+ years defining NFRs and architecture standards.
- Expertise in AWS, Azure, or GCP; microservices; Kubernetes; and HA/DR design.
- Experience with application tiering and SLA/SLO frameworks.
- Cloud and TOGAF certifications preferred.
