Java Developer

Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior Java Developer to join a highly collaborative, service-oriented engineering team supporting a large client-facing application environment. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on technical professional with strong development, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work directly with service teams, technical stakeholders, and clients.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop, enhance, troubleshoot, and support applications within a Java-based environment.
• Take ownership of bugs, enhancements, production issues, and service requests from initial triage through resolution.
• Independently investigate technical issues and determine appropriate tactical and long-term solutions.
• Work effectively with minimal technical guidance and proactively determine appropriate next steps.
• Partner with internal service teams, technical stakeholders, and client-facing organizations to understand and resolve technical issues.
• Participate in client-facing technical discussions and clearly communicate technical issues, solutions, risks, and timelines.
• Support applications and services hosted within AWS.
• Work with databases as part of application development, troubleshooting, and production support activities.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools and modern engineering practices to support development, troubleshooting, testing, and solution delivery.
• Maintain a strong sense of urgency when addressing client-impacting issues.
• Contribute as a problem solver and solution builder across application development and support activities.
• Collaborate across development, QA, service, and business teams to improve application quality and the overall client experience.
Required Qualifications
• Strong hands-on Java development experience.
• Solid application development and coding experience with the ability to independently troubleshoot and modify existing applications.
• Experience working with databases, including investigating and resolving application and database-related issues.
• Experience supporting or developing applications hosted within AWS.
• Strong production troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
• Demonstrated ability to take ownership of technical issues and drive them through resolution.
• Experience supporting bugs, enhancements, production issues, or service-related requests in a fast-moving environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to interact directly with technical and non-technical stakeholders, service organizations, and clients.
• Ability to balance hands-on technical work with effective communication and stakeholder relationship management.
• Experience utilizing or willingness to leverage AI development and coding tools as part of the engineering workflow.
Preferred Qualifications
• Previous experience working within an existing enterprise platform or technical environment.
• Experience supporting large client-facing applications or SaaS environments.
• Experience in roles combining application development with production or service support.
• Additional QA, testing, or test automation experience combined with strong hands-on coding capabilities.
• Experience working across development, QA, production support, and service organizations.
• Experience communicating technical information directly to customers or external clients.
