Job Overview:

Pay Range: $50.00hr - $55.00hr

Requirement/Must Have:

  • 8-10 years of software development experience.
  • 5+ years of experience using various AWS services including VPC, EC2, S3, Lambda, ECS, EKS, RDS, API Gateway, Glue Crawlers, and Athena.
  • 7+ years of experience in software development with hands-on skills in Java, J2EE, Java Spring framework, and hibernate technology.
  • 5+ years of experience in modernizing applications, including refactoring, migration, and cloud-native development.
  • 5+ years of knowledge of modern database technologies and strategies for migrating and modernizing database systems.
  • 5+ years of experience with DevOps practices and automation tools.
  • 3+ years of experience working with creating AWS ETL jobs and data pipelines with high volumes of data.
  • Experience in modernizing legacy applications, including refactoring/migrating in-house legacy applications to the cloud environment.
  • Proficiency in utilizing AWS services and related components towards building enterprise level Data Lakes.
  • Experience working with transactional or RDMS databases.
  • Proficiency in SQL, including writing complex queries, understanding database relationships, debugging, and performance tuning.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud-based ETL tools.
  • Understanding of data modeling.
  • Experience or familiarity with Agile/Scrum Framework environments.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and propose effective modernization strategies.
  • Design, develop, and test Java-based, cloud-native applications and backend systems.
  • Design, build, and maintain ETL pipelines.
  • Analyze data models and business requirements.
  • Perform data validation by querying the database to verify data accuracy and integrity.
  • Design, create, and execute test cases.
  • Conduct back-end testing to validate logic and data processing.
  • Work closely with developers and business analysts to understand data requirements and ensure comprehensive test coverage.
  • Utilize AWS services within application architecture.
  • Develop, test, debug, and deliver solutions within timelines using best practices.
  • Participate in code reviews and ensure security best practices.
  • Maintain clean, efficient code.
  • Monitor application performance and optimize for cost, security, and reliability.
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve technical issues and challenges.
  • Ensure adherence to standards and best practices.
  • Work with product managers and business stakeholders to refine requirements.

Nice to Have:

  • 2+ years of experience with data analytics and business intelligence solutions like Power BI or AWS QuickSight.
  • AWS Certification.
  • Prior experience in a State Government environment.
