If you are passionate about data-driven decision making, consider joining CNA Insurance's Portfolio Management Data Analytics team, which partners closely with Underwriting and business leadership to drive strategy execution, accountability, and profitable growth through analytics and insight. This team leverages data and analytics synthesized from across the organization to ensure underwriting strategies are effectively translated into measurable actions and outcomes. The Data Analytics Analyst is an individual contributor position reporting to the Data Analytics Director.
Under broad supervision, you will design and analyze moderately complex organizational data to deliver business insights. Responsibilities include data validation, UAT support, dashboard QA, and preparation of standard commentary for leadership and underwriting partners. The role will also learn to apply emerging AI capabilities-such as prompt driven analysis, text summarization, and decision support-to accelerate insight generation and enhance analytical workflows while adhering to CNA's governance, risk, and responsible AI standards.
Ideal candidates are early in their career and eager to learn Power BI, insurance analytics, and enterprise data processes in a collaborative team environment. We are seeking someone with a curiosity and desire to learn AI enabled analytics tools and prompt engineering techniques.
This position enjoys a flexible, hybrid work schedule of 2 days per week in our Chicago, IL or Radnor PA office.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Performs a combination of duties in accordance with departmental guidelines:
- Performs basic modeling for the purpose of quantifying the performance of the business area and evaluating operational changes. Reports findings to consultants/senior consultants and proposes preliminary recommendations based on insights.
- Interprets data and identifies relevant analyses and possible solutions using judgment and precedents.
- Assists with the building of dashboards (using excel and/or Proprietary Software) and helps with the preparation of reports to Senior Consultants and/or Management.
- Provides quantitative support to interpret and/or model data and explains variances/trends.
- Responds to and fulfills adhoc data requests.

Typically Manager or above.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
- Knowledge of financial, economic, and/or statistical practices, procedures and principles, which may include a specialty area of the business
- Developing technical expertise and product knowledge.
- Good analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to effectively resolve simple to moderately complex situations and issues. Demonstrates attention to detail.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to effectively interact with all levels of CNA's internal and external business partners.
- Collaborates with all levels of team members to explain potentially complex information.
- Good time management and strong organizations skills with the ability to prioritize and complete work and/or projects effectively.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and make sound business decisions effectively
- Ability to adapt to change and value diverse opinions and ideas.
- Has a strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other business-related software.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Economics, Mathematics, Analytics, Statistics, or related field.
- Typically up to two years of related work experience.

In certain jurisdictions, CNA is legally required to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation for this role. In District of Columbia, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York and Washington, the national base pay range for this job level is $47,000 to $78,000 annually. Salary determinations are based on various factors, including but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location.
