Join Our Team as a Youth Counselor in Westmoreland County!
Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young individuals? Adelphoi is hiring youth counselors. We provide a 4-week rotating schedule which includes day, afternoon, and weekend shifts. We're conveniently located in Latrobe, close to Greensburg, Ligonier, Mount Pleasant, and other surrounding areas.
At our group homes, we prioritize treatment plans that yield exceptional results for youth. By joining our team, you'll have the chance to learn our approach, contribute to meaningful solutions, and position yourself for growth and advancement in the counseling and juvenile justice fields.
Compensation: $19.65-$24.80 per hour depending on education
What You'll Do:
  • Supervise and mentor youth in a residential setting.
  • Maintain safety and order using approved crisis-prevention and physical intervention techniques when necessary.
  • Participate in de-escalation, restraint, and emergency response procedures as trained and required.
  • Work collaboratively with other staff to provide consistent structure and support.
Physical and Safety Requirements:
Because this role involves working with older and sometimes physically aggressive youth, candidates must be able to:
  • Safely perform physical interventions and restraints with individuals who may weigh 200+ pounds, using approved techniques.
  • Stand, walk, and respond quickly throughout the shift.
  • Successfully complete and maintain certification in Adelphoi's crisis intervention / restraint training and pass any required physical abilities assessment.
