Job description

Job Overview: The Host welcomes our guests and maintains a smooth and steady flow in our restaurant service by assigning patrons to tables suitable for the guest needs and according to rotation so that servers receive an appropriate number of seatings.
Reports to: Food & Beverage Management
Duties:
  • Assist the Servers in preparing for dinner or lunch service
  • Review and confirm reservations for each service
  • Greet guests and seat them at tables or in waiting areas
  • Provide guests with menus
  • Assign patrons to tables suitable for their needs and according to rotation so that servers receive an appropriate number of seatings
  • Speak with patrons to ensure satisfaction with food and service, to respond to complaints, or to make conversation
  • Answer telephone calls and respond to inquiries or transfer calls

Essential Requirements:
  • Must be available Tuesday through Saturday nights and Sunday brunch
  • Desire to grow within the hospitality industry is preferred
  • Fluency in English both verbal and non-verbal
  • Provide legible communication and directions
  • Compute basic arithmetic
  • At least 1 year of experience in similar position dealing with the general public
