Data Analyst
Chicago or Dallas – WFH 2 days/week (onsite 3 days/week)
Summary
As a Data Analyst, you'll focus on managing data, both from a technical standpoint and also functional standpoint to ensure the data solutions that are being built align with business goals. As such, part of your job will focus around working with stakeholders to understand what they are looking to get from data solutions. And then the other part of your job will focus around writing complex SQL queries to extract data from various databases, DWs and other data sources, and aggregate data into DWs or other data stores. We are big on automating data movement, so you'll also have an opportunity to work with Python or other tools to build data pipelines.
What you'll be doing
  • Mine data from primary and secondary sources, organize data in a format that can be easily read by humans or machines
  • Interpret data sets, identifying trends, patterns relevant for diagnostics and predictive analytics efforts
  • Conduct requirements gathering and capture findings for development teams
  • Collaborate with business analysts, engineers, and other team members to deliver overall team outcomes
  • Create appropriate documentation that allows stakeholders to understand the steps of data analysis process and replicate the analysis if necessary
Skills we're seeking
  • 3+ years of experience as a Data Analyst, or working in similar capacities
  • Must have strong experience writing SQL queries
  • Must have strong experience working with SQL databases
Nice to have experience:
  • Experience working as a Business Analyst, or gathering requirements for projects
  • Experience using Python, or similar languages, for automation
  • Experience working in cloud-based environments, ideally with Azure or AWS
  • Experience with cloud-based DWs, such as Snowflake
  • Experience working in Agile environments
