Career Nanny (Swiss German Speaker) | Manhattan, New York
We are seeking a warm, experienced, and highly professional career nanny to become a trusted, long-term member of our household team in Manhattan. This is a full-time position providing attentive, consistent care for our young child in a loving, language-rich home.
Location: Manhattan, New York
Schedule: Full-time, with flexibility to accommodate occasional evenings and weekends as needed
Compensation: $125,000-$140,000 annually, commensurate with experience
Start Date: September or thereafter
Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional, nurturing care for our young child, including meals, naps, developmental activities, and age-appropriate learning
- Foster a safe, engaging, and stimulating environment that supports healthy emotional, cognitive, and physical development
- Communicate fluently in Swiss German with our child as part of our bilingual household
- Maintain consistent daily routines while thoughtfully adapting to our child's changing developmental needs
- Keep the child's spaces clean, organized, and well stocked, including the nursery, children's laundry, bottles, toys, clothing, and supplies
- Coordinate children's appointments, activities, and schedules as needed
- Collaborate with household staff and family members to ensure consistent routines and excellent care
- Travel with the family when requested
- Support occasional childcare outside of standard hours with advance notice whenever possible
Requirements
- Fluent Swiss German speaker (required)
- Significant professional experience caring for infants and/or toddlers
- Strong understanding of child development and age-appropriate activities
- CPR and First Aid certified (or willing to obtain prior to start)
- Flexible, dependable, highly organized, and proactive
- Discreet, professional, and comfortable working in a private household
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
