Work Environment

As a Nurse Practitioner, you will be an integral part of a collaborative team that includes physicians, nursing staff, and administrative personnel, all working in unison to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver exceptional treatment options for patients, conducting thorough physical examinations, assessments, and diagnostics within the scope of urgent care.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as X-rays, lab results, and EKGs to guide treatment decisions.
  • Triage patients efficiently to manage workflow and minimize wait times, ensuring a seamless patient experience.
  • Perform essential procedures including minor surgical tasks, wound management, and injections, as well as digital blocks and regional anesthesia.
  • Start IV fluids and undertake closed reductions of simple fractures and dislocations, maintaining the highest standard of patient care.
  • Provide leadership by overseeing daily operations, ensuring the clinic runs smoothly, and mentoring advanced practice clinicians.
  • Regularly review patient callbacks and lab results, providing timely follow-ups as needed.
Patient Population / Client Focus

At Island Immediate Care Center, you will interact with a diverse range of patients, from young children to elderly adults. Our focus is on providing urgent medical care to all age groups, preparing our Nurse Practitioners to handle varied cases while fostering strong patient relationships. Qualifications
  • A valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner in New York State.
  • Current national certification and an unrestricted medical license in New York.
  • Located within the state and possess a controlled substance license alongside an active DEA number.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively treat and consult patients across a broad age range.
  • A minimum of 1 year of relevant clinical experience in an urgent care, ER, or similar healthcare environment.
  • Availability to work two full weekends per month, contingent on full-time status.
  • Holding either a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree or a Bachelor's or Master's of Science (BS/MS) degree.

Compensation and Benefits
