Job Description SummaryServes as the executive Compliance Leader for the USCAN zone within GE HealthCare's Global Markets Region, accountable for the execution and continuous improvement of the zone's compliance program across the United States and Canada. This role owns the compliance strategy for USCAN, serves as the primary compliance advisor to the zone President and Leadership Team, and represents the Compliance function at the most senior levels of the zone's business and is an active contributor to the Global Markets compliance leadership team.
The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in U.S. healthcare compliance including the Anti-Kickback Statute (AKS) and industry codes such as AdvaMed and PhRMA combined with the executive presence and organizational influence to drive a culture of integrity across a complex, matrixed environment. They will lead and develop the USCAN compliance team, set clear strategic priorities, and partner effectively with regional and global teams to deliver a program that is both rigorous and enabling. They bring the judgment to advise zone leadership on high-stakes compliance matters and the strategic acumen to continuously strengthen the program in a dynamic regulatory environment.Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Serve as the executive compliance advisor to the USCAN zone President and leadership team, continually working to identify strategic opportunities to further a strong compliance culture, identify and reduce enterprise risks

  • Lead a team of compliance professionals, defining clear roles and responsibilities, driving coaching, development, and succession planning, and allocating and optimizing team resources across the zone to match risk priorities

  • Drive proactive compliance leadership and engagement to ensure that business colleagues are responsible for compliance with policies, processes, controls and other initiatives

  • Maintain direct, hands-on involvement in high-complexity compliance matters, including high-risk transaction reviews, and regulatory inquiries - not solely through team oversight but as an active participant

  • Develop metrics and dashboards in coordination with global and regional teams to provide leadership with appropriate indicators of compliance health

  • Partner with the Global Compliance team to develop and deliver compliance training and communications that reflect USCAN-specific regulatory requirements and business context on GE HealthCare's Code of Conduct, The Spirit & The Letter, Indirect Third Parties, interactions with healthcare professionals, Research Separation requirements, and U.S. industry codes

  • With business leadership, drive real-time and relevant discussions of compliance topics, risks, mitigations and program efforts, and ensure that the zone Compliance Reviews are held with appropriate cadence and relevant content

  • Monitor internal and external compliance trends, including compliance initiatives, industry compliance failures and applicable, industry specific regulatory requirements

  • Support GE HealthCare's centrally-managed open reporting system, serving as the zone's primary point of escalation and ensuring timely follow-through on USCAN-specific issues identified through monitoring and audit activities

  • Identify and resolve compliance-related procedural issues and areas of improvement, and ensure remediation actions plans are established, implemented and tracked through to closure

  • Collaborate with the Compliance COE on transactional processing (IPP), monitoring, and ITP oversight to ensure consistent execution across the zone

  • Drive alignment of USCAN compliance processes with the Global Markets operating model, balancing global consistency with U.S./Canadian regulatory requirements

Qualifications/Requirements

  • 12+ years of professional experience in compliance including risk mitigation, investigations, audit, operational and/or other relevant assurance areas in the U.S. and/or Canadian healthcare markets, preferably with a multinational company in the healthcare sector

  • Comprehensive understanding of U.S. and Canada healthcare regulatory systems, theories and practices relevant to the function, and ability to respond with evaluative judgment based on analysis of factual & qualitative information in complicated or novel situations

  • Proven ability to lead high performing teams across multiple areas and elevate them to the next level, while continuing to be a business partner and lead change

  • Demonstrated track record of: (a) identifying and resolving compliance issues quickly and effectively; (b) ability to make timely and informed management calls with proven ability to drive operational excellence; and (c) developing and implementing compliance policies, processes and procedures

  • Proven ability to influence different levels of the company and help drive sustainable cultural and organizational change

  • Strong grasp of codes of conduct, business ethics policies and current compliance practices and relevant industry standards

  • Strong business acumen, ability to detect emerging compliance and industry trends and develop appropriate responses

  • Strong communication, interpersonal and collaborative skills with ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization and to influence beliefs and opinions of teams and other peers in the organization

  • Global mindset, able to deal with people from all different backgrounds and cultures

  • Demonstrable verbal and written fluency in English

  • Deep knowledge of the Anti-Kickback Statute (AKS), False Claims Act (FCA), and related U.S. healthcare fraud and abuse laws, as well as applicable Canadian regulations

  • Strong understanding of Research Separation principles and their application in a medical technology/healthcare company

  • Demonstrated expertise in industry codes including AdvaMed Code of Ethics

  • Experience with DOJ enforcement trends, OIG advisory opinions, and Corporate Integrity Agreements in the healthcare sector

  • Experience managing compliance aspects of academic partnerships, educational grants, and healthcare professional engagement programs

  • Experience in leading and handling critical investigations, including implementation of corrective actions

  • Strong analytical, process management and implementation skills, sensitivity to issues, strong facilitation and problem-solving skills

We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening. For U.S. based positions only, the pay range for this position is $208,000.00-$312,000.00 Annual. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the pay range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including skills, qualifications, experience and location. In addition, this position may also be eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).
