Job Title: Film Program Instructor

Location: Varies. Multiple locations across the Atlanta Metro Area

Department: Creative Arts Programs

Reports to: Program Director

Position Type: Part Time. After School Hours. Summer

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 2:30pm to 6:00pm


Job Overview

Artportunity Knocks is seeking a creative and passionate Film Instructor to lead engaging film and digital media programming for students in grades K through 12. This role focuses on introducing students to filmmaking, storytelling, video production, editing, and media creation through hands on projects and collaborative learning experiences.

The ideal candidate has experience in film production, digital media, or content creation and enjoys mentoring young creatives. Instructors will help students develop technical skills, creativity, communication, and confidence while exposing them to real world opportunities within the film and media industry.


Key Responsibilities

Film and Media Instruction

• Teach fundamentals of filmmaking including storytelling, scriptwriting, directing, cinematography, and editing
• Introduce students to camera operation, lighting, audio recording, and production techniques
• Lead hands on projects such as short films, interviews, music videos, documentaries, or digital content pieces
• Help students understand the creative and technical aspects of film production


Creative Development and Student Engagement

• Encourage creativity, collaboration, and self expression through media projects
• Guide students through brainstorming, production planning, and project execution
• Foster confidence, teamwork, and communication skills
• Support students in presenting or showcasing completed projects


Technology and Production Support

• Teach students how to use editing software, cameras, and production equipment
• Support safe and responsible use of media equipment and technology
• Introduce students to digital content creation and media trends


Classroom Management and Safety

• Maintain a structured, safe, and positive learning environment
• Supervise students during filming activities, production setups, and transitions

Qualifications

Required
