Job Title
Creeler Operator| Monday - Friday
Position Overview
This position is Monday - Friday 3pm-11pm.
Position Objective: To maintain a constant supply of yarn to the creel. Assist and/or relieve operator as needed and at break times.
Essential Duties (Considering job knowledge, job environment, effort, manipulative skill, judgment, safety knowledge, and responsibility):
Check lot numbers to ensure that the correct lot is running
Hang and splice in yarn in creel, i.e. spotting, doubling and cutting back the creel.
Remove exhausted tubes from creel.
Place tube caps on running packages.
Maintain the yarn level and cleanliness of the creel throughout the shift.
Make preparations for boxes and tubes to be removed from creel.
Guide LTO in loading cases or boxes.
Remove all tubes of yarn in the creel or work area that appears to be unusable and follow procedures for disposition
Perform a walk-through of assigned creel at the beginning of the shift or when moved to a new creel to check overall condition of creel.
Identify and report any maintenance needed at the creel and tag with pink ribbon.
Load yarn into the creel
Operator tufting machine as needed i.e. Cut pile, multiple thread-ups, and/or pair machines. Follow all Operator job procedures while operating machine
Assist and/or relieve operator in all duties as necessary.
Assist with backing changes.
Responsible for properly identifying non-conforming greige goods.
Responsible for properly identifying non-conforming yarn.
Requirements:
Must be able to recognize letters and numbers to identify yarn lots.
Must be able to distinguish colors.
Must have adequate depth perception.
Must be able to read, write, and have some basic math skills.
