Job description

Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 12 years of experience in consumer electronics space.

Preferred qualifications:
  • Master's degree or PhD in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Materials, or a related engineering field.
  • 15 years of experience in Manufacturing, Quality, or Product Engineering for hardware technology and systems.
  • Experience with executing designs for precision mechanical systems, including kinematic design and tolerance analyses.
  • Experience working with original design manufacturers (ODMs), module integrators and component supplies worldwide.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software.
  • Knowledge and optimal selection processes of materials, adhesives, and coatings used in optical systems.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the cross-functional effort on the definition, development and qualification of manufacturing strategies/solutions for a variety of head worn devices through all phases of the NPI process, all the way to high volume manufacturing.
  • Partner with manufacturing technology partners in the architecture, design and qualification of manufacturing processes/equipment for product enablement, design and process verification paving the pathway to mass production.
  • Work to drive design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) efforts from early network threat intelligence (NTI) to prototype to mass production, working closely with internal and external partners and contract manufacturers.
  • Evaluate and develop prospective vendors(ODMs, module integrators, component supply chain) for process and quality capabilities.
  • Develop and standardize the design for manufacturability and assembly processes/requirements across the Android XR ecosystem.
