Operations Production Supervisor Job Description

Production Supervisor Duties:

  • Leadership role model in terms of professional behaviors and personal accountability.
  • Promotes a safe work environment.
  • Coordinate with other areas to meet goals.
  • Ensure equipment is in properly working order.
  • Provide accurate and timely information of performance administrative work.
  • Meet long and short-range plans.
  • Ensure materials and supplies are available when required to execute daily plans.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work environment. Follow, enforce and support 5S principles.
  • Assign and execute daily and weekly production schedule.
  • Re-enforce adherence to standards (QCPs, policies and procedures, etc.) through coaching and routine follow up.
  • Ensure staff receives adequate training for the operations assigned to them.
  • Complete Corrective Actions to improve area.
  • Communicate/document with employees on performance; assist employees in achieving performance expectations.
  • Ensures company policies and procedures are followed.
  • Provide accurate and timely performance feedback to management.
  • Score favorably in compliance audits of MOS Overall Utilization Assessment.
  • Ensure compliance with Company IPM/QPM and ISO quality requirements.
  • Resolve performance/disciplinary issues with employees in coordination with the Human Resources.
  • Follow MOS Principals supplied by management.
  • Interaction with Customers as needed.
  • Document travelers after operations are performed.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.
  • Oversee multiple departments across 3 shifts.
  • Oversee daily, weekly and monthly schedules to meet monthly financial goal.
  • Weekends required as needed.

Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong computer skills; including Excel, PowerPoint etc.
  • Problem solving and organizational skills
  • Practical knowledge of aircraft components, machining, welding, inspection, and related disciplines.
  • Self-motivated with a high level of ownership and accountability
  • Six Sigma Greenbelt/Blackbelt preferred
  • Team building skills
  • Position must be able to obtain a Repairman Certificate within 2-4 months of employment or have the credentials i.e. A&P license so they are able to supervise any maintenance activity.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be fluent in English, i.e. speaking, reading, writing
  • Associate Degree required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred;
  • Four (4) years experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
