Writing Associate information

What job makes $10,000 a month without a degree?

A Writing Associate typically does not earn $10,000 a month without significant experience or specialization. High earnings in writing-related roles usually require advanced skills, a strong portfolio, or freelance work with high-paying clients. Most entry-level writing jobs pay less, but freelance writing or content creation can reach higher income levels with consistent effort and a solid reputation.

How does a Writing Associate typically collaborate with other team members during the content development process?

A Writing Associate often works closely with editors, subject matter experts, and designers to ensure content accuracy, clarity, and alignment with project goals. Collaboration may involve participating in brainstorming sessions, revising drafts based on feedback, and adapting writing styles to suit various platforms. Regular communication and feedback loops are essential, as Writing Associates need to balance creative input with organizational guidelines and deadlines. This teamwork not only enhances content quality but also provides opportunities to learn from experienced colleagues.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Writing Associate, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Writing Associate, you need strong writing, editing, and research skills, typically supported by a bachelor's degree in English, communications, or a related field. Familiarity with style guides (such as APA or MLA), word processing software, and collaborative platforms like Google Docs is often required. Exceptional communication, critical thinking, and adaptability help you tailor content and feedback to diverse audiences. These competencies are crucial for producing clear, effective writing and supporting the development of others’ written work.

Can I make $1000 a month freelance writing?

Writing Associates working as freelancers can potentially earn $1000 or more per month depending on their experience, writing volume, and rates. Consistent clients, strong writing skills, and effective time management are key factors in reaching this income level.

What is the difference between Writing Associate vs Writing Tutor?

AspectWriting AssociateWriting Tutor
CredentialsTypically requires a bachelor's degree, strong writing skillsUsually undergraduate or graduate students with good writing abilities
Work EnvironmentOften works in academic or professional settings, supporting writing projectsPrimarily works in tutoring centers or academic support services
Employer & IndustryUniversities, colleges, or writing centersEducational institutions, tutoring centers

While both roles involve supporting writing, a Writing Associate often collaborates on projects and may have more responsibilities related to content development, whereas a Writing Tutor primarily provides one-on-one assistance to students to improve their writing skills.

What does an associate writer do?

An associate writer creates written content such as articles, reports, or marketing materials under the supervision of senior writers or editors. They often assist with research, editing, and drafting tasks, and may use tools like word processors or content management systems to complete their work.

What are Writing Associates?

Writing Associates are professionals who assist students, faculty, or professionals with writing projects. They provide feedback, guidance, and support to help individuals improve the clarity, structure, and effectiveness of their written work. Writing Associates often work in academic settings, such as writing centers or universities, but can also be found in corporate or nonprofit environments. Their goal is to empower writers to develop their skills and produce high-quality documents.

What can you do with an associate's degree in writing?

A writing associate's degree prepares individuals for entry-level roles such as content writer, editorial assistant, or communications coordinator. These positions often involve creating, editing, and managing written content, and may require skills in grammar, research, and familiarity with word processing tools.

Job description

About ACQ Media
ACQ Media is the in-house media engine behind Acquisition.com, producing content for Alex Hormozi, Leila Hormozi, and Sharran Srivatsaa. Our mission: build the leading business media organization in the world by 2030. We operate like a studio - structured workflows, batch production, clear performance metrics, and an AI-native production model. High output. High quality. No vanity content.
The Role
This role is primarily responsible for written content across Leila Hormozi's brand. The Writer is the voice behind our written content - captions, scripts, newsletters, promotional copy, and every written asset tied to content performance. This role writes in distinct brand voices and does not default to generic or AI-generated output. If you outsource your writing to AI, this isn't the role for you.
You'll work closely with the Social and Creative Producers to ensure written output aligns with visual packaging and platform strategy. You'll also own brand voice documentation, maintain living voice guides, and keep standards consistent across internal and external contributors.
Reports to the Creative Producer. Fully remote.
What You'll Own
Social copy and captions across Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, X, YouTube, and Threads - platform-native, with strong hooks and clear CTAs
Scripts and long-form written assets for YouTube episodes, short-form video, and branded content
Promotional and campaign copy - episode launches, newsletters, ad creative, PR quotes
Brand voice guides and a living library of signature phrases, standards, and do/don't examples
AI integration - prompt libraries, draft acceleration, variation testing - without letting AI dilute voice quality
What We're Looking For
5+ years in copywriting, content writing, or brand writing for digital media or personal brands
Demonstrated ability to write convincingly in multiple distinct voices
Strong grasp of what copy performs on each platform and why
Experience writing at volume across scripts, captions, newsletters, and long-form content
Proficiency with AI writing tools and a clear framework for where they help vs. where they hurt
Comfortable in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with multiple concurrent projects
What Success Looks Like
Every assigned brand has consistent, on-voice written output across all active platforms
Hook and caption quality improves measurably in engagement and CTR data
Scripts and long-form assets are delivered on time, no bottlenecks
The Creative Producer spends less time editing and more time on strategy
AI is embedded in the workflow - output speed is up, voice quality is not down
Location
Remote, USA. Light travel may be required.
Compensation:
  • $65,000 - $75,000 base salary
  • The salary range may be inclusive of several levels that would be applicable to the position. Final salary will be based on a number of factors including, level, relevant prior experience, skills, and expertise. This range is only inclusive of base salary, not benefits (more details below).
Benefits:
We offer a comprehensive, evolving benefits package designed to support your health, family, and wellbeing. Some key offerings:
  • Flexible Unlimited Paid Time Off and Company-wide Holidays
  • Employer sponsored Medical, Dental, & Vision plans
    • $1,950 annual Employer HSA contribution
    • FSA options including dependent care
    • Employee assistance program and mental health resources
  • Employer match program for 401(k), eligible for both Traditional and Roth accounts
  • $1,200 annual wellness reimbursement through JOON that supports health, family care, pet care, fitness, and more!
  • For local or visiting team members, enjoy access to a state of the art gym at our HQ in Las Vegas

* Benefits eligibility applies only to full-time roles.
ACQ Core Values:
Our core values are the heart and soul of this incredible company. The right person for this role will appreciate each of these values, personally subscribe to them, and understand why each is critical to having a great business.
Competitive Greatness
Be at your best when your best is needed. Enjoyment of a hard challenge. Those who have the drive to constantly improve, the superior intellect and long term commitment to see incremental improvements become compounding returns.
Sincere Candor
Have the self awareness to accurately perceive and communicate hard truths that improve others and self, the courage to do so, and the humility to accept them, even when it hurts. Nothing great can be built without feedback: internally or externally.
Unimpeachable Character
Be the type of person with whom people are always proud to associate, personally and professionally. We look for true alignment of thoughts, words, and actions towards a goal worth pursuing.
