Customs Brokerage Associate Entry Writer
Position Details

Classification: Exempt | Full-Time (On-site)

Location: Mendota Heights, MN

Salary Range: $40,000 - $50,000 annually

Position Summary

The Associate Entry Writer delivers a high level of customer service to Radiant’s clients while ensuring full compliance with U.S. Customs requirements. This role builds strong working relationships across internal teams, customers, and outside partners, and may take on additional duties as operational needs evolve.

Key Responsibilities

Entry & Documentation

  • Enter customs data and prepare entries with a high degree of accuracy.
  • File Importer Security Filings (ISF / 10+2) for inbound shipments.
  • Generate and manage files in the EDI trade system.
  • Conduct pre-clearance review of all import documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) laws and regulations.

Shipment Coordination

  • Track cargo from booking through final delivery, ensuring a smooth, end-to-end process.
  • Coordinate with trucking companies to schedule inbound shipments.
  • Work with freight forwarders, brokers, and other transportation partners to keep freight moving.
  • Identify and resolve shipping delays or issues quickly.
  • Collaborate with internal staff, overseas offices, and third parties to maintain service quality.

Customer & Financial

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers throughout their shipping process.
  • Respond to customer inquiries promptly and follow up to confirm resolution.
  • Review and apply the financial components of each shipment, and invoice customers accurately.
  • Meet and uphold internal customer service standards.
  • Take on other duties and assignments as business needs require.
Qualifications

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of customer service experience.
  • Data entry experience with strong attention to detail.
  • Background in transportation or logistics is a plus.

Technical Skills

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with transportation management (TM) systems is a plus.

  • Regular physical activity: walking, sitting, handling materials, keyboarding, and reaching.  
  • Visual demands include close, distance, and peripheral vision, with the ability to adjust focus.
Compensation & Benefits

Salary Range: $40,000 - $50,000 annually

Starting pay is based on multiple factors, including but not limited to education, work experience, skills, and job-related knowledge. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
