Job description

Under general supervision, completes all hospital registration, Inpatient Admissions, Pre-Admissions, Emergency Room and Outpatient diagnostic testing and treatment areas. Establishes insurance criteria and obtains patients' pertinent socioeconomic information; enters data into the on-line Information System. Completes insurance and billing forms. Collects patient payment for medical services, treatments, and supplies provided by the hospital; follows all managed care guidelines.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
• High School graduate or equivalent. Typing 35 wpm with computer knowledge and PC keyboarding skills required.
• Medical Terminology preferred with health insurance knowledge including experience with Medicare/Medicaid and Managed Care requirements.
• Previous hospital, healthcare related experience preferred.
• Must demonstrate ability in communication and problem solving. Strong customer service skills required.
POSITION is Temporary, and located at the Powers Health Portage location.
