Our innovative solutions are designed to streamline processes, enhance efficiency, and improve the delivery of government services to the public. At Catalis, we are committed to leveraging technology to make government interactions simpler, faster, and more accessible.
Join a dynamic team, focused on helping Municipal Governments "Connect and Simplify Municipal Information to help make data informed decisions." We are a data and service company with the goal of being an Alberta based technology company recognized across Canada. What we Offer
Catalis is a fast growing and award-winning technology company that serves small urban and rural municipal governments across Canada. We offer competitive compensation, full paid vacation, and comprehensive health & dental benefits. We focus a lot of energy on professional development, offering free access to unlimited Udemy courses for personal and professional advancement, as we want our employees to ride the wave and grow with our business. The Opportunity
We are seeking a Full-Stack Developer for a 6-month contract, with the potential to extend up to 3 additional months, to build a proprietary web accessibility compliance suite. In this position, you will own the development of an automated scanning engine that audits platforms against WCAG standards, translates complex data into user-friendly CMS dashboards for non-technical clients, and integrates document-level validation. This is a high-impact opportunity to design a scalable compliance ecosystem from scratch, directly shaping how our organization and clients maintain accessible digital experience
This is an onsite position working out of our Edmonton office Monday through Friday.
What you Will do

  • Build client-facing CMS dashboards that make complex compliance data easy for non-technical users to understand
  • Create a separate validation module to scan user-uploaded PDFs for accessibility best practices
  • Write clean full-stack code and manage backend database queries
  • Collaborate closely with designers, developers, and project managers to deliver high-quality features

Requirements
What you Will Need to Succeed
  • Strong knowledge of WCAG guidelines and hands-on experience with programmatic accessibility testing
  • Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, or similar languages, with experience building automated testing tools, scrapers, or DOM-parsing frameworks
  • Experience leveraging AI tools like Claude to accelerate development, troubleshoot, and optimize workflows
  • Ability to design data-driven reporting systems and structured audit logs
  • Experience developing custom plugins, APIs, or integrations for Content Management Systems
  • A degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or equivalent professional development experience

Nice-to-Haves
  • A good visual sense and understanding of UI/UX best practices
  • Comfort navigating design assets and style guides in Figma or Adobe XD
  • Prior experience working with VPAT reporting formats
  • Experience with libraries or APIs that extract and parse structure from PDFs
  • Familiarity setting up automated deployment or CI/CD pipelines to run scanning scripts
