Job Summary:

Acrisure is seeking a Workers' Compensation Claims Examiner to support clients within the Alabama jurisdiction. This role is responsible for managing lost time workers' compensation claims from assignment through resolution while ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant claim handling.

The adjuster will investigate claims, evaluate liability and exposure, manage litigation and medical activity, maintain reserves, and support claim resolution strategies. This position is ideal for a claims professional who is comfortable managing multiple priorities, navigating complex claims issues, and working in a fast-paced environment.

This is a fully remote position focused on Alabama Workers Compensation Claims. Workers' compensation claims experience is required for this role. Candidates should have experience handling workers' compensation claims and exposure to lost time claim management.

Responsibilities
  • Manage a desk and caseload of workers' compensation claims in an efficient and professional manner

  • Investigate claims thoroughly, including coverage, liability, and exposure analysis

  • Evaluate claim exposure and maintain accurate and timely reserves

  • Manage litigation activity and coordinate with defense counsel as needed

  • Evaluate claims for settlement and negotiate resolutions with claimants and attorneys

  • Monitor and manage medical treatment activity and claim progression

  • Maintain accurate, timely, and organized claim documentation within the claims system

  • Ensure claim payments are processed accurately and timely

  • Support timely and compliant claim resolution strategies

  • Maintain communication with employers, injured workers, attorneys, medical providers, and clients throughout the claims process

  • Participate in required training and maintain knowledge of assigned state workers' compensation statutes

  • Perform additional duties and projects as assigned

Requirements
  • Lost time workers' compensation claims experience required

  • Workers' compensation claims handling experience in Alabama jurisdiction preferred

  • Exposure to litigation management and settlement negotiations beneficial

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail and sound decision-making ability

  • Clear verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment

  • Professional and customer-focused approach when working with clients and claimants

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and ability to learn new systems

Education and Licenses
  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Bachelor's degree beneficial
