Job description

Our client is seeking a Workers' Compensation Claims Assistant to join their growing Claims team in California. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional with experience supporting California Workers' Compensation claims in a collaborative, in-office environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong administrative background and a working knowledge of California Workers' Compensation processes. This is a temp to perm opportunity based out of their Northern California office.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide administrative and claims support to California Workers' Compensation Claims Examiners.
  • Assist with the handling and maintenance of claim files, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and confidentiality.
  • Collect and organize medical records, wage documentation, employment information, and other claim-related materials.
  • Coordinate with injured workers, medical providers, employers, and attorneys to obtain necessary documentation and schedule appointments.
  • Enter and update claim information within the claims management system while maintaining organized electronic files.
  • Track outstanding items and assist examiners with follow-up activities to help move claims toward resolution.
  • Draft routine correspondence and support examiners with day-to-day claim administration.
  • Maintain compliance with California Workers' Compensation regulations, company policies, and internal procedures.
Requirements:
  • 2 - 5+ years of experience in a Workers' Compensation Claims Assistant or Claims Support role (California experience preferred)
  • Working knowledge of California Workers' Compensation laws, procedures, and claim handling, including Med Only claims
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with claims management systems and Microsoft Office Suite
  • High school diploma required; college coursework or degree preferred
Salary & Benefits:
  • $25.00 โ€“ $32.00 per hour, depending on experience
