About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Workers' Compensation Claims Supervisor to provide leadership and oversight for a team of claims professionals. This position is responsible for supporting the effective management of complex claims, ensuring compliance with California workers' compensation regulations, and developing team performance.
The ideal candidate is an experienced workers' compensation professional who brings strong leadership skills, sound judgment, and a proven ability to guide teams and manage complex claims.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, mentor, and support Claims Specialists and Claims Assistants.
- Provide ongoing performance feedback, coaching, and professional development.
- Monitor claims to ensure compliance with company standards and applicable California regulations.
- Provide guidance on complex claims and assist with settlement negotiations.
- Maintain oversight of high-value, subrogation, SIU, delayed or denied benefit, and coverage-related claims.
- Conduct regular claims audits to ensure accuracy, completeness, and quality.
- Complete performance evaluations and address performance or personnel matters as appropriate.
- Identify opportunities to improve claims processes and overall claim outcomes.
- Promote teamwork and collaboration across departments.
- Support projects, process improvements, and organizational changes.
- Develop team members and identify potential leadership successors.
- Provide reports, records, and other claims-related information as required.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of progressive Workers' Compensation claims experience, including technical or complex claims.
- 5+ years of leadership experience in a supervisory, management, team lead, or similar capacity.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion when handling complex claims.
- Experience providing guidance on complex claim matters and negotiating settlements.
- Working knowledge of the California Workers' Compensation Labor Code and applicable claims-handling requirements.
- Strong communication, coaching, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Ability to work three days per week onsite in Orange, CA.
