Job description

We are looking for an exceptional Legal Secretary to streamline the day-to-day functions of our boutique law firm. You will be responsible for scheduling meetings and appointments, setting deadline reminders, maintaining case files, entering data into our system, and providing general administrative and reception support in the office.

This position offers 30 hours per week; hours are from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm, Monday - Thursday

Responsibilities

  • Greet clients and visitors when they arrive at the office and determine the reason for their visit
  • Answer phone calls and respond to general emails
  • Handle incoming and outgoing mail
  • Schedule meetings and appointments
  • Maintain organized files, including copies of all documents and correspondence

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2 years of administrative experience in the legal field is required
  • Secretarial background, or an associate degree or vocational training in business administration, criminal justice administration, legal administration, or related field preferred
  • Record of ethical conduct and ensuring client confidentiality
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office, WordPerfect, and legal software
