Job Vacancy Details This posting has been set up to received candidate applications for interest in teaching Business & Workforce Licensure courses through the Continuing Education Division at Pitt Community College and will allow our staff to search applications and skills when active class needs are available. The Business & Workforce Licensure Instructor designs, delivers and evaluates courses that prepare students for licensure or certification in business-related and workforce fields such as Real Estate Pre-Licensing & Post-Licensing, Insurance Pre-Licensing, Notary Public & Electronic Notary, Medical Coding Certification, and business skills such as Accounting, Marketing, Management, and other workforce credential training. This role supports both new entrants and professionals seeking to update or expand their credentials.

Instructors will develop curricula aligned with state standards, facilitate class sessions (in person, online, or hybrid), assess learner progress, and maintain compliance with licensing requirements. What You'll Do Prepare and teach assigned courses in accordance with course syllabus. Maintain accurate registration, attendance, and payroll records for each course taught.

Prepare, review, and update course syllabus on a regular basis. Recommend and assist with curriculum revisions as necessary. Use formative and summative assessment techniques to improve learning and teaching.

Create an effective learning environment and use teaching methods designed for a variety of learning styles. Submit required reports and fulfill all contract provisions. Assist with maintaining a classroom environment emphasizing safety, good housekeeping, and equipment security.

Maintain student, instructor, and staff confidentiality. Consistently monitor work area to ensure instructor and student data is being protected according to Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) regulations. Multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.

Adapt and respond to changing work situations and environments in a positive manner. Participate in professional development activities designed to enhance job skills and knowledge, as agreed upon by the employee and supervisor. Interact with students, the public, the community, and co-workers in a cooperative, courteous and professional manner.
