Job description

Position: Health and Wellbeing Program Coordinator

Wage:$20.06 to $23.51 per hour (Compensation is determined based on relevant experience, skills, and qualifications, with most new hires starting between the minimum and midpoint of the posted wage range)

Hours:Part-Time, Up to 25 hours per week

Location:Pearl Street Family YMCA, Tacoma, WA

As a Health and Wellbeing Program Coordinator, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to the Health and Well-being Department under the direct supervision of the Health and Well-Being Program Director. Areas of responsibility include program development, leading small groups, and maintaining program quality.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and/or two years related knowledge and experience preferred.
  • Y-USA Foundations of Strength and Conditioning and/or Y-USA Foundations of Group Exercise certifications or equivalencies such as; ACE, ASCM, AFAA, NETA.
  • Knowledge of basic health and fitness principles and components, exercise prescription and strength training machines.
  • Be able to set an excellent example in health, fitness and member service.
  • General computer skills helpful.
  • CPR, First Aid, AED certifications
  • Must be able to pass Background and Reference checks (in accordance with the WA State Fair Chance Act).
  • Committed to valuing and promoting diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.
  • Able and willing to complete online Child Abuse Prevention training on first day, and other online and in-person training as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administrative support to the Program Director and the Health and Well-being department
  • Assist Program Directors in recruiting, hiring, training and supervising staff and volunteers
  • Monitor monthly budget, make adjustments and recommendations accordingly
  • Lead members through programs while demonstrating safety guidelines
