Job description

Job purpose
The Technical Solutions Specialist is proficient in the usage and application of Grade Control Systems on construction equipment. Lead sales, training, and repair efforts of Grade Control technology. Ensure excellent customer and WPI internal training is provided. Assist department Demos of "I" machines. Create and expedite troubleshooting procedures of the Grade control systems. Ensure updates and modifications on IMC equipment are implemented. Troubleshoot and repair multiple types of grade control systems from start to finish both in the shop and field. Provide excellent communication between Komatsu and WPI personnel.
Duties and responsibilities
  • Support all aspects of Grade Control Systems including Demos, training, repairs, and support.
  • Troubleshot and repair all grade control systems from start to finish including non-Grade Control
  • Ability to evaluate and upsell any additional repairs on equipment not related to Grade Control
  • Organize training programs for customers in the use, operation and application of Grade control systems provided by WPI, Komatsu and Grade control suppliers Represents the company in a professional manner at all times.
  • Assist CMD technical training with needed updates regarding Grade Control Systems.
  • Provide internal communication and support to WPI personnel concerning Grade control systems.
  • Provide a total Grade Control system and build long term relationships with WPI customers.
  • Manage parts, equipment, tooling and all required component inventory for the support of Grade control systems.
  • Ensure follow-up is conducted on each sale to ensure customer satisfaction with training.
  • Participate in all company/regional communications and meetings.
  • Manage communication between WPI, Komatsu and Grade control suppliers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.

Qualifications
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years experience as a heavy-duty diesel technician on mobile equipment. Komatsu or similar manufacturer servicing equipment with embedded smart technology preferred.
  • Must have previous experience with precision GPS products.
  • Must be a graduate of a Technical School for Diesel Technology or have a bachelor's Degree in related technology studies or 10 years min diesel technician experience.
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Must be able to operate advanced Service Software platforms.

  • Must have the ability to work flexible hours, days, and weekends (as necessary)
