A Day in the Life:
  • Serve as the clinical leader for all weekend operations within the Health Care Center
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and support for nursing staff throughout the weekend
  • Coordinate staffing needs by assisting with call-ins, shift coverage, and staffing adjustments to maintain safe resident care
  • Carry the weekend on-call phone from Friday afternoon through Monday morning, serving as the primary nursing resource for urgent clinical and staffing concerns
  • Respond to after-hours emergencies including resident falls, significant changes in condition, staffing emergencies, and other urgent situations
  • Collaborate with physicians, department leaders, charge nurses, CNAs, CMAs, and other interdisciplinary team members to ensure exceptional resident care
  • Support residents and families by addressing concerns with professionalism and compassion
  • Monitor clinical operations to ensure compliance with state regulations, community policies, and quality standards
  • Provide direct resident care when necessary to support the nursing team
  • Complete weekend reports, documentation, and communication for weekday leadership
  • Participate in Monday morning leadership follow-up to ensure continuity of care and operations
Schedule:
This unique leadership position is designed to provide full-time compensation while maintaining a condensed work schedule.
Typical Schedule:
  • Friday: Leadership Shift (approximately 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM)
  • Saturday: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM
  • Sunday: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM
  • Monday: Leadership Shift (approximately 7:00 AM - 11:00 AM)

In addition to scheduled hours, this position serves as the on-call nursing leader from Friday afternoon through Monday morning, providing clinical guidance and staffing support as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Current Kansas Registered Nurse (RN) license required
  • CPR Certification required
  • Minimum three (3) years of nursing experience
  • Previous charge nurse, supervisory, or nurse leadership experience preferred
  • Long-term care, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or senior living experience preferred
  • Strong clinical assessment, leadership, and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities
  • Ability to manage staffing challenges, prioritize competing demands, and make sound clinical decisions independently
