Job description

Overview Senior Radio Frequency (RF) Engineer – Advanced Satellite Systems | Durham, NC. This role can be worked remotely but would require up to 50% travel to NC. We're partnering with a pioneering satellite imaging company that's transforming how we capture and analyze Earth's data from space.

Their breakthrough antenna technology enables real-time, high-resolution imaging from small satellites, creating unprecedented access to critical insights for both commercial and defense applications. As a Senior RF Engineer , you'll lead the design, integration, and testing of end-to-end RF systems for next-generation synthetic aperture radar (SAR) satellites. You'll work across disciplines, developing low-cost, high-performance RF systems that redefine what's possible in satellite communications and remote sensing.

Responsibilities Design and integrate RF systems using COTS components for space-based radar applications Perform RF performance simulations and link budget analysis Test and validate hardware performance using VNAs, spectrum analyzers, and related tools Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless satellite system integration Develop calibration routines and support lab setup for testing and qualification Qualifications BS, MS, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or similar field 3+ years of hands-on experience designing and testing RF systems Strong knowledge of frequency synthesizers, mixers, amplifiers, and filters Familiarity with ADS, HFSS, CST, and Altium Experience with S, C, or X band systems Background in satellite or aerospace systems is a major plus Why it's exciting You'll join a high-performing team at the forefront of satellite imaging innovation, working on technology that's reshaping how the world observes and understands our planet.
