Physician - OB/GYN

Our organization is seeking a Board Certified Obstetrician/Gynecologist to become part of our dynamic practice, which includes two full-time board-certified OB/GYNs, two nurse practitioners, and full-time sonographers. You will work in a private office environment, supported by the extensive resources of a leading medical institution. This practice operates as a division of a community medical group. We aim to deliver high-quality care, innovative treatments, and personalized service to our community. Located in Suffolk County, Long Island, our practice is conveniently situated near Stony Brook University Hospital and other local hospitals.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the healthcare team in providing patient care, including diagnosis and treatment.

  • Gather medical histories, conduct physical examinations, diagnose conditions, and order necessary laboratory and diagnostic tests.

  • Assess results of procedures and provide both preventive and acute care.

  • Ensure continuity of care by developing and implementing individualized patient care plans.

  • Educate patients about their medical conditions, self-management of acute or chronic illnesses, and customize instructions based on individual needs.

  • Guide and counsel patients on therapeutic regimens, promoting wellness and health maintenance.

  • Prescribe medications as needed.

  • Document examinations and progress notes in the Electronic Medical Record, providing referral letters when necessary.

  • Collect, monitor, and report on patient outcomes.

  • Participate in shared night and weekend on-call coverage with other physicians.

  • Adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times.

  • Oversee the conduct and care provided by clinical office staff, including nurses, medical assistants, and technologists, as the leader of the clinical team.

  • Supervise the interactions and conduct of shadowing medical students, physician extenders, and nursing interns.

  • Meet quality benchmarks set by Population Health, payers, NYS DOH, or the Centers for Medicare/Medicaid Services.

  • Follow established evidence-based practices to ensure high-quality patient care.

  • Build a patient base to generate revenue sufficient to cover salary and expenses.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • MD or DO degree.

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology.

  • New York State Licensure.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in a group practice or similar setting.

  • Background in OB/GYN.

  • Experience with advanced laparoscopic surgery in gynecology.

  • Fluency in Spanish is preferred.
