is seeking a high-energy, solutions-oriented Weekend Operations Lead
. This critical role serves as the primary point of contact for weekend execution, escalation management, and network service continuity
The position combines hands-on shipment execution with real-time operational leadership
. The Lead will oversee pre- and post-weekend preparation, manage customer operations, collaborate closely with the carrier department to ensure coverage, and serve as the final escalation contact for all weekend issue resolution.
The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced logistics environments, demonstrates exceptional judgment under pressure, and takes complete pride in ownership from initial issue identification through final resolution.
Key Responsibilities
Weekend Leadership & Escalation
  • Primary Point of Contact: Serve as the main contact for weekend operational execution with a heavy focus on customer operations, support, and account-specific strategies
  • Issue Resolution: Act as the ultimate escalation point for weekend service failures, shipment disruptions, and critical customer issues
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Lead and collaborate with the carrier department to maximize weekend coverage, prioritize open loads, and resolve service risks proactively
  • Team Coordination: Coordinate weekend support representatives to ensure total shipment visibility, consistent communication, and seamless service continuity
Operational Execution & Customer Care
  • Live Shipment Management: Actively track live shipments, execute tracking, coordinate recoveries, and maintain proactive communication with customers and carriers
  • Pre/Post-Weekend Alignment: Oversee both pre-weekend preparation and post-weekend review to guarantee seamless transitions to and from the weekday teams
  • Growth Support: Support ongoing business growth by responding to quotes, handling ad-hoc customer requests, and managing after-hours outreach
  • Process Improvement: Analyze recurring operational breakdowns to refine weekend SOPs, escalation workflows, and execution standards

Position Requirements & Qualifications
  • Experience: 2+ years of hands-on experience in freight brokerage, third-party logistics (3PL), transportation operations, or carrier management
  • Expertise: Deep understanding of live load execution, service recovery, and transportation escalation workflows
  • Communication: Exceptional cross-functional communication and negotiation skills
  • Tech Savvy: Strong proficiency navigating modern TMS platforms and Microsoft Office tools
  • Availability Requirements: Ability to reliably work the required Thursday-Monday or Friday-Tuesday schedule (0700-1600 CST)
