Job description

Summary:
The Operations and Event Support position at Firebird Motorsports Park plays a key role in ensuring the successful execution of public and private events, including motor sports races, festivals, corporate functions, and other entertainment activities. This position supports operations through event setup, guest service/event support, and post-event breakdown helping to create a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. This position supports the day-to-day facilities and operations by maintaining the entire grounds.
Responsibilities:
  • Operations and Facilities Support
    • Assist with maintaining assets, vehicles, and equipment as needed.
    • Assist with various projects including electrical, plumbing, drywall, patch work, HVAC, etc.
    • Maintain guest areas for cleanliness, this includes common areas and restrooms.
  • Event Set Up and Breakdown
    • Starts the day on track-punctual and prepped for race-day action.
    • Stage and prep event areas, including hospitality zones, spectator areas, and vendor zones.
    • Assist with setup and breakdown of signage, tables, tents, fencing, trash cans, and other event infrastructure.
    • Complete walkthroughs and evaluations to ensure site readiness.
  • Guest Services and Event Support
    • Provide guidance and information to guests, vendors, and participants during events.
    • Support crowd control, gate entry, parking coordination, etc.
    • Respond promptly and professionally to all radio communication.

  • Works both inside and outside on a regular basis and in most weather conditions and may operate under extreme temperatures.
  • Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.
  • Evening, weekend, and holiday shifts are required as a normal part of this position.

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, and walk extended period. The employee occasionally is required to bend, climb, stoop, lift, carry, push, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
Required Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required for events.
  • Valid AZ driver's license, provide a 39-month satisfactory MVR report.
  • Obtain a Tribal operator driving permit at the time of hire.
  • A satisfactory result obtained through a test for illegal drugs.
  • Acknowledge and agree to maintain a drug-free workplace.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge and experience working with Gila River Indian Community or other Native American Communities.
  • Prior event, hospitality, or venue support preferred.
  • Experience with basic tools.
  • Basic mechanical maintenance preferred.
  • Handyman experience a plus.
  • Previous experience in motor sports events or track operations a plus.
