The Ames High School is seeking Event Staff.
Summary
Event staff members support school-sponsored activities such as athletic contests, performances, and special events.
Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
Duties may include, but are not limited to:
Ticket Sales & Entry
  • Operates ticket booth, sells and collects tickets, and reconciles sales at the end of the event.
  • Greets attendees in a professional, welcoming manner.
  • Monitors entrances to ensure only authorized guests enter.

Event Announcing
  • Provides clear, engaging, and accurate public address announcements.
  • Shares event information, schedules, and important updates in a professional tone.
  • Follows the provided scripts and adhere to district guidelines for announcements.

Concession Stand Operations
  • Prepares, serves, and sells food and beverages in accordance with health and safety regulations.
  • Operates the cash register and handles transactions accurately.
  • Maintains a clean, organized, and stocked concession area.

General Event Support
  • Assists in setting up and closing down event spaces.
  • Maintains crowd control and help ensure a safe, positive environment.
  • Communicates effectively with coaches, officials, administrators, and other staff.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and variable hours as scheduled.
  • Previous experience in customer service, food service, or event operations preferred but not required.

The successful candidate will exhibit:
  • Experience handling money preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
