Job description

Overview
Apogee is seeking an Intelligence Planner - GEOINT to support the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command (USASMDC). This role provides GEOINT-focused intelligence planning and integration in support of space and missile defense missions, ensuring geospatial requirements are defined, prioritized, and synchronized with collection, analysis, and operational planning efforts.
The Intelligence Planner develops and refines GEOINT collection and production requirements, coordinates with internal teams and external mission partners, and integrates GEOINT into operational plans, targeting cycles, and intelligence synchronization matrices. Responsibilities include assessing geospatial information needs, identifying coverage gaps and risk, recommending collection strategies (e.g., imagery, geospatial data, and derived products), and tracking collection/exploitation/production status to support decision advantage. The planner produces and maintains planning artifacts such as collection plans, GEOINT annex inputs, requirements documentation, briefs, and synchronization products, and ensures GEOINT outputs are tailored to customer priorities and timelines.
This is a full-time opportunity at Petterson Space Force Base (PSFB), CO.
****Contingent Upon Contract Award****
Responsibilities
  • Lead GEOINT planning in support of operational and intelligence requirements; translate mission objectives into GEOINT collection and production tasks.
  • Develop, validate, and manage GEOINT requirements (PIR/IR), including prioritization, deconfliction, and traceability to customer needs.
  • Build and maintain planning artifacts (e.g., GEOINT collection plans, ISR synchronization matrices, GEOINT annex inputs, targeting/decision-support graphics).
  • Coordinate with collection managers, imagery/GEOINT analysts, all-source analysts, and mission partners to synchronize tasking, exploitation, and production.
  • Assess geospatial coverage, identify collection gaps and risk, and recommend strategies to improve access, timeliness, and product quality.
  • Integrate GEOINT into the targeting cycle and operational planning (e.g., COA development support, terrain/LOS analysis coordination, facility/installation characterization).
  • Track collection and production status; provide updates/briefs to Government leads and mission stakeholders.
  • Ensure GEOINT products and plans comply with applicable standards, policies, and tradecraft; document assumptions, sourcing, and limitations.

Qualifications
Minimum Experience:
Citizenship: Must be a US citizen
Clearance: Must have and be able to maintain a Top Secret (TS) with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) adjudication
Education: Bachelors Degree
Years of Experience: 12+ years intelligence experience with a primary focus on GEOINT/IMINT planning and/or GEOINT-enabled operational support.
Additional Experience:
  • Demonstrated experience developing and managing GEOINT requirements and integrating GEOINT into staff planning products.
  • Working knowledge of GEOINT collection/production workflows and ISR synchronization (tasking-to-production).
  • Proven ability to coordinate across organizations and deliver time-sensitive support to senior staff/customers.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills; able to produce concise staff products and brief mission stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:
Additional Experience:
  • Prior experience on a SMDC, Army, Joint, or Combatant Command staff supporting operational planning and decision support.
  • Experience supporting space and missile defense missions (threat systems, force structure, and related GEOINT problem sets).
  • Familiarity with enterprise GEOINT tasking/requirements processes and common GEOINT toolsets and data standards.
  • Experience integrating GEOINT with other INTs to develop a unified collection/production approach.
