Job description

The Event Designer is responsible for the design and execution of a wide range of events, including corporate meetings, weddings, and galas. The Event Designer will generate sales leads utilizing previous contacts and will continue to expand their existing customer base by attending networking events and nurturing existing client relationships.

RESPONSIBILITIES Other responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Drives sales by soliciting and securing business through a proactive, consultative sales approach
  • Screens inquiries, responds to leads, and prepares custom proposals based on clients’ needs and budget
  • Manages sales inquiries from point of inception through event execution
  • Manages, maintains, assigns, and solicits accounts to achieve a monthly sales goal
  • Responds to client inquiries providing responsive and knowledgeable customer service
  • Develops productive and mutually benefiting business relationships with vendors and clients
  • Schedules and attends site-visits, outside sales calls, and event tastings
  • Enters and tracks sales and events information in CRM system
  • Manages multiple clients and responsibilities, while meeting deadlines
  • Collaborates with culinary team to create customized catering proposals
  • Negotiates client contracts to secure new business
  • Performs other duties associated with the position that are reasonably assigned to support the overall needs of the business
  • Minimum 3+ years of Catering/Event Sales experience is required
  • Solid portfolio of successfully managed events, such as weddings, corporate events, and meetings
  • Ability to function independently and intuitively in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and time management skills
  • Strong sales skills with the ability to sell ideas to clients, management, etc.
  • Firm knowledge of food, beverage, and event management
  • Must have an eye for detail and ability to care deeply, providing the client a memorable experience
  • Proven ability to anticipate and solve problems related to event production timeline
  • Possess positive attitude with the ability and willingness to work with clients and coworkers
  • Excellent team management skills, and ability to lead a team as assigned
  • Strong ability to manage several simultaneous projects
  • Excellent MS Office skills; Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and attend events outside of normal business hours
