JOB TITLE: Estimator

REPORTS TO: Director of Estimating

JOB STATUS: Full Time

FLSA STATUS: Exempt

DATE: November 6, 2025


JOB SUMMARY:


The Estimator is responsible for developing sales proposals and cost estimates for Baggage Handling Systems (BHS) for our customers and partners. The Estimator works with the team to identify and provide reliable solutions for all commercial and technical issues that arise to ensure complete customer satisfaction.


The Estimator will support both large and small projects independently, while coordinating their work with the rest of the team. The Estimator is responsible for opportunities from the bidding and concept stages to the award and execution transition stages.


The successful Estimator is a critical thinker with the ability to understand customer specifications and standards, system integration, and calculations in support of BHS control and electrical design and installation.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


  • Ability to stay current with our customerโ€™s standards and specifications
  • Working knowledge of typical codes and standards associated with BHS controls programming, design and electrical installation on a state and national level.
  • Perform estimating duties associated with the development of proposals for opportunities in BHS.
  • Reads architectural, mechanical, electrical and technical drawings and has a basic understanding of BHS.
  • Draft quality proposals and cost estimates for BHS estimates.
  • Track and report on the progress of their assigned work to the bid manager.
  • Identify customer requirements within their documentation and identify and record requirements discussed/clarified to understand and identify all requirements whether documented, verbal, implied or implicit to define a solution that best fits the customerโ€™s needs and price.
  • Prepares for and participates in hand-off meetings with professional delivery initiating the proposal efforts for all and answering questions about the opportunity.
  • Record cost metric information and maintain estimating database
  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders/Customers effectively
  • Other responsibilities as needed.

WORK SCHEDULE: Monday through Friday 40 hours per week in the office. Nights and weekends required as needed to meet bid proposal deadlines.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Bachelor's or Masterโ€™s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Economics, Finance or Business from an accredited university/college
  • 0-3 years of experience in related field
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
