About the Role

Innovative Manufacturing & Engineering (IME) is hiring experienced CNC Lathe Setup Machinists to support growing demand in our Des Moines, Iowa facility. This is a high-impact role for machinists who enjoy complex setups, tight tolerances, and modern equipment in a quality-driven shop.

What You’ll Do

  • Set up and operate CNC lathes with live tooling, dual spindle, dual turret, and bar feeders
  • Interpret blueprints and technical drawings to execute accurate setups
  • Optimize cutting parameters for efficiency, quality, and repeatability
  • Perform in-process and final inspections to AS9100 standards
  • Troubleshoot machining issues and maintain consistent production flow
  • Maintain tooling, offsets, and machine condition
  • Support 5S and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Assist with training and mentoring other machinists as needed

  • 5+ years of CNC lathe setup and operation experience
  • Strong experience with live tooling and multi-axis lathe configurations
  • Doosan or Mori Seiki experience preferred (not required)
  • Solid understanding of AS9100 and quality-driven machining
  • Dependable attendance and strong shop-floor accountability
  • Leadership or shop-lead experience is a plus
