Job description

The Nurse Manager for the Med-Surg unit plays a pivotal role in overseeing clinical operations, ensuring high-quality patient care, and leading a dedicated nursing team. This position offers an attractive $15K sign-on bonus and does not include weekend shifts, allowing for a balanced work schedule. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in nursing and possesses strong leadership skills coupled with hands-on Med-Surg experience.

Shifts: Days (No weekends)

Relocation: Case by Case Basis

Sign-On Bonus: $15,000


Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operations of the Med-Surg nursing unit
  • Lead, mentor, and develop nursing staff to promote clinical excellence
  • Ensure compliance with nursing standards, policies, and regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient care quality and safety
  • Monitor patient outcomes and implement improvements as needed
  • Oversee staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation for the department
  • Serve as a liaison between nursing staff and hospital administration

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing required.
  • Texas State RN or RN Compact License acceptable under eNLC guidelines.
  • Previous recent Department Director or Manager experience required, will also a strong CNC looking to step into a Manager role.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of recent acute care Med/Surg experience required.
