Position Summary
Magellan Aerospace, New York has an exciting opportunity for a Machine Maintenance Technician. The purpose of this position is to ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable operation of production machinery in a high-precision aerospace manufacturing environment. The successful incumbent will support and maintain the mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electromechanical systems of our manufacturing equipment.
The hourly range for this role is $25.00 - $32.00/hour.
Essential Responsibilities
  • Perform troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment including CNC machines, lathes, mills, grinders, and production machinery, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and conveyors and automated systems
  • Diagnose mechanical failures and identify root causes to minimize downtime.
  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance and maintain accurate maintenance records.
  • Support machine installations, relocations, and upgrades.
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to improve equipment performance and reliability.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, lockout/tagout procedures, and company policies.
  • Assist in continuous improvement projects related to machine reliability and plant efficiency.
  • Respond to urgent maintenance issues and support off-shift operations when required.

Position Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Technical certification preferred.
  • 3-5+ years of machine maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment (CNC / aerospace preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of, mechanical systems, hydraulics and pneumatics, bearings, gearboxes, pumps, motors, spindles, and ball screws, and alignment, vibration, and machine leveling
  • Ability to read mechanical and electrical schematics.
  • Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and precision measurement equipment.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
  • Manufacturing environment with exposure to heavy machinery, oils, noise, and industrial conditions.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and off-shift support when required.
