Job description

Medlivo is seeking a travel nurse RN NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care for a travel nursing job in Burien, Washington.

Job Description & Requirements

Minimum 2+ years recent RN experience in NICU Level II, Special Care Nursery (SCN), Postpartum, or LDRP required / CERTIFICATIONS – BLS (AHA) and NRP Required / LICENSE – Active RN License Required (WA license may be pending at submission) / Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, 36 hrs/week, 13 weeks (every other weekend + holidays as needed) / Setting: Acute Care – Special Care Nursery (Level II NICU) & Postpartum/LDRP / EMR: EPIC / Skills: Neonatal care, attending deliveries as baby nurse, postpartum couplet care, IV starts and maintenance, neonatal stabilization, transfer preparation, Bubble CPAP, High Flow, umbilical line assist/maintenance, titration of neonatal drips, teamwork, flexibility, and strong communication skills required / Unit Details: 5-bed Level II NICU/SCN within an LDRP department; NICU ratio 1:3 infants, Postpartum ratio up to 3 mother-baby couplets / Common Patient Population: Phototherapy, grower/feeders, respiratory distress, hypoglycemia, neonatal abstinence syndrome (NOW), sepsis evaluations, and newborn delivery attendance / Drips: D5W, TPN, and other neonatal therapies as required / RT Equipment: Bubble CPAP, BiPAP, High Flow Oxygen, Ventilator support (prior to transfer); RN responsible for monitoring and support / Charge Nurse: Present and typically without a patient assignment / Scheduling: Block scheduling available; Nights (7p–7a) / Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend / Holiday Requirement: One summer and one winter holiday as needed / Call/Standby: Standby requirements may apply / Floating: Between SCN and Postpartum; may take postpartum assignments when NICU census is low / Orientation: 3 department-specific night shifts plus unit orientation / Scrubs: Provided by facility / Additional: Level II NICU experience and postpartum experience strongly preferred; candidates must be comfortable with newborn resuscitation, neonatal respiratory support, and independent clinical decision-making in a combined SCN/Postpartum setting.
