Job description

About Pantheon

Pantheon WebOps Platform powers the open web, running more than 300,000 sites in the cloud for customers including Google, Princeton, Salesloft, and Doctors Without Borders. Every day, thousands of developers and marketers create, iterate, and scale WordPress and Drupal sites to reach billions of people globally. Pantheon’s multitenant, container-based platform enables organizations to manage all of their websites from a single dashboard. Organizations, including Clorox and the United Nations, drive results through accelerated development and real-time publishing using Pantheon’s collaborative workflows.

The Role

The Product Marketing Manager (PMM) is the bridge between our product teams and the market. This role owns go-to-market strategy and execution for Pantheon\'s Next.js hosting and modern frontend capabilities — translating technical features into clear customer value and enabling our customer-facing teams. You\'ll be stepping into an active, high-velocity workstream: Next.js on Pantheon recently hit GA, and there\'s a full pipeline of enablement, adoption, and demand-gen programs underway. The PMM executes core positioning and messaging for our Next.js portfolio, ensuring tactical clarity and consistency across all channels to drive adoption and product understanding among developers and digital teams.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Market & Customer Expertise
  • Customer Insights: Deeply understand our target buyers — with a focus on JavaScript developers, frontend engineers, and digital agencies building on Next.js — and own the ongoing development of buyer personas and ICP definitions (including pain points, decision-making criteria, and "jobs to be done"). You\'ll build directly on existing persona and ICP work already underway.
  1. Competitive Research and Deliverables
  • Competitive Intelligence: Conduct focused, tactical competitive research on the Next.js hosting and modern web deployment landscape — with a sharp eye on Vercel, Netlify, and self-hosted alternatives — and track competitor messaging shifts.
  • Deliverable Creation: Own the creation and maintenance of internal competitive deliverables, such as battlecards, teardowns, and comparison guides, ensuring Sales and Marketing are equipped to win against key competitors in the Next.js space.
  1. Positioning & Messaging
  • Value Translation: Own the tactical creation of clear, concise messaging that translates Next.js-specific capabilities — managed infrastructure, multidev environments, CMS integrations, and enterprise-grade operations — into quantifiable customer benefits and compelling value propositions.
  • Product Content Development: Create and maintain high-impact core product content, including website copy, Next.js feature pages, data sheets, and customer case studies, ensuring messaging clarity and accuracy across all platforms.
  1. Go-to-Market (GTM) Execution
  • GTM Programs: Drive and coordinate cross-functional activities (Sales, Marketing, CS) that accelerate Next.js adoption post-GA — including SDR enablement kits, CSM outreach playbooks, and ongoing campaign support.
  • Event & Content Programs: Support demand-gen and awareness programs such as LinkedIn Live sessions, developer-focused events, and content series that showcase Pantheon\'s Next.js capabilities in action.
  • Adoption Tracking: Monitor adoption and usage metrics, providing actionable feedback to Product and Sales teams.
  1. Sales & Cross-Functional Enablement
  • Sales Enablement: Partner closely with Sales and SDR teams to develop and maintain high-impact tactical assets — email sequences, talk tracks, objection handlers, FAQ docs, demo presentations, and customer case studies — that equip every customer-facing teammate to sell Next.js confidently.
  • CSM Enablement: Collaborate with the Customer Success team to build outreach playbooks and lifecycle content that drive Next.js adoption and expansion among existing customers.
  • Product Collaboration: Work closely with Product Management to review Next.js feature functionality and ensure a clear, market-ready articulation of all new capabilities.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in Product Marketing, preferably in B2B SaaS, developer tools, or WebOps/hosting platforms.
  • Next.js & Modern Web Fluency: Working knowledge of Next.js, React, and the modern frontend ecosystem — enough to credibly engage developers, understand technical trade-offs, and translate them into market-facing narratives.
  • Education: Bachelor\'s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Execution Focus: Demonstrated ability to execute multiple concurrent GTM programs and effectively translate complex technical concepts.
  • Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a talent for translating technical specifications into clear, concise, and persuasive marketing copy.
  • Collaboration: Highly collaborative and comfortable working across multiple teams, including technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Bonus Points (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Experience marketing products built on Drupal or WordPress, or in a headless/hybrid CMS context.
  • Familiarity with JAMstack, edge infrastructure, or CDN concepts.
  • Experience with developer-focused content programs (LinkedIn Live, webinars, technical blog series).
  • Proficiency with Salesforce, Amplitude.

We have all the usual perks and benefits but what we can really offer you is a fantastic work environment powered by an amazing team.

  • Industry competitive compensation and equity plan
  • Flexible time off, sick days, and 13 paid holidays
  • Comprehensive medical insurance including Health, Dental and Vision
  • Paid parental leave (plus fertility, adoption and other family planning benefits)
  • In-office workspace (San Francisco)
  • Monthly allowance for wellness, reading and access to LinkedIn Learning for continued development
  • Events and activities both team-based and company wide that inspire, educate and cultivate
