Job description

Overview

We’re looking for a Senior Manager, Marketing Web Development to lead the team responsible for Everlaw’s marketing web properties, including Everlaw.com and related digital experiences. This is a highly cross‑functional role at the intersection of web development, content, demand generation, analytics, and brand. Reporting to our Director of Content Marketing, you and your team will drive the execution of our web marketing strategy—including the architecture, maintenance, and optimization of our web properties. You’ll own our marketing web development process and manage a small but high‑performing team of developers while helping lead cross‑functional projects, owning reporting on general web performance, visitor metrics, SEO, and AI visibility. Most importantly, you’ll lead the creation of world‑class websites that perform, rank, and engage. This is a full‑time, exempt, on‑site position located in our Oakland, CA office with a hybrid work schedule: in office Monday/Wed/Thu with the option to work from home on Tuesday/Friday.

Responsibilities
  • Lead Everlaw’s marketing web development function.
  • Manage the team responsible for developing, maintaining, and improving Everlaw’s marketing web properties.
  • Ensure sites are stable, performant, accessible, scalable, and aligned with business needs.
  • Bring rigorous analysis to web performance and own ongoing performance across core areas such as site speed, reliability, technical SEO, development quality, operational efficiency, and overall site health.
  • Own web reporting and insights; lead reporting on general web performance, visitor behavior, conversion trends, SEO performance, and emerging AI visibility metrics.
  • Translate data into clear insights and recommendations for marketing leaders and cross‑functional partners.
  • Lead an efficient development process by managing intake, prioritization, resourcing, QA, release planning, and stakeholder communication for web development work.
  • Help the team move quickly while maintaining high standards for quality, documentation, and long‑term maintainability.
  • Guide cross‑functional web projects, bringing structure, clarity, and accountability to projects that touch the website and broader digital experience.
  • Manage, coach, and develop your team by setting clear priorities, providing consistent feedback, supporting professional development, and helping team members grow their technical, strategic, and operational capabilities.
Qualifications
  • Passion for building great websites and enthusiasm for creating and improving web properties.
  • Strong technical expertise with experience in Agile methodologies and development best practices, and adept in JavaScript, Angular, React, CSS, and Jamstack architecture (bonus if familiar with Cursor).
  • Skilled people manager with a track record of successfully managing and growing a team, setting clear objectives, providing constructive feedback, and offering targeted support for professional growth.
  • Use data to reflect on past performance and inform future decisions; comfortable working with web analytics, SEO data, conversion metrics, performance reporting, and technical diagnostics.
  • Understand the website as a business asset, caring about clean code and strong infrastructure while recognizing how the website supports brand, demand generation, content strategy, conversion, customer education, and business growth.
  • Five or more years of experience in web development, web marketing, or a related field (or three years with an advanced degree) with demonstrated abilities to manage a team and create impactful web content aligned with strategic goals and buyer‑journey phases.
  • Authorized to work in the United States; Everlaw is not sponsoring visas for any positions.
Benefits
  • Expected salary range between $174,000 and $220,000.
  • Equity program.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with company matching.
  • Health, dental, and vision benefits.
  • Flexible Spending Accounts for health and dependent care expenses.
  • Paid parental leave and approximately 10 days (80 hours) per year of sick leave.
  • Seventeen paid vacation days plus 11 federal holidays.
  • Membership to Modern Health to support mental health and wellness.
  • Annual allocation for Learning & Development opportunities and applicable professional membership dues.
  • Company‑sponsored life and disability insurance.
  • Flexible work‑from‑home days on Tuesdays and Fridays.
